Sneak Peek: DC’s “New 52” with Matt

Published on September 2nd, 2011

DC’s relaunch is here, and I couldn’t be happier. Hi. I’m Matt, the new guy at Comic Impact and I’m here to talk about my picks for DC’s “New 52.”  There are many books that have peaked my interest but I think two will stand out  and really impress people.

I am really excited for Nightwing by Kyle Higgins and Eddy Barrows. After his stint in the cape and cowl Dick Grayson has never been more popular. Writer Kyle Higgins has proven he has a great handle on Dick Grayson’s voice with the miniseries, Batman: Gates of Gotham, which was one of my favorite books of 2011 and Barrows’ art has never looked better.

Wonder Woman by Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang is DC’s best chance to bring Diana back to the forefront,  where she deserves to be. Azzarello is a bit of an out of left field choice to write the character and I think people we will check it out just  to see what he does with her. What more needs to be said about Cliff Chiang’s art. His style is expressive, dynamic and gorgeous. Wonder Woman is a character  whose not reached her potential since Gail Simone wrote her back in 2007 and I can’t wait for her return to the spotlight.

Check it out the video and afterwards take a look at my column, The Impact to get caught up on all the latest and greatest news of the comic industry. Enjoy.
