Kick-Ass sweater?

kick-ass-sweaterThis past weekend I was in Las Vegas for a wedding. I was walking around the Planet Hollywood Casino and I saw something that caught my eye, a Kick-Ass sweater.   I told my self ” wow that’s kind of cool. If is under $50.00 I will buy it since I love the book  and I am a  Mark Millar and John Romita Jr fan and I know that film is going to kick ass since I saw a screener back in August of last year. ” Yeah that’s how my brain works sometime .

I look at the tag and I saw $98.99 or something like that. I told my self NO FUCKING WAY. This is kind of sad that this clothes company’s is trying hijack true comic book fans because of a few cool kids thinking that they are hot shit because they have a T-shirt or sweater.

I am sorry but there’s no way in hell I would pay close to $100.00 for a sweater  just because it says Kick-Ass on it.Also they had a few t-shirt with some quotes from the comic/film, those where going for around $45.00. I am sorry comic impact readers I just need to get that off my chest. I did find a cool Planet Hollywood sweater at the restaurant in Caesar’s Palace that was buy one and get one free. For half of the price of the kick-ass one.

For the rest of you that don’t know what Kick-Ass is, the story  goes something like this: comic book fanboy Dave Lizewski decides to become a hero to save New York city from the real bad guys- street thugs, drug dealers, etc., etc. There are some major injuries to key characters and serious amounts of violence in this book, but with a title like Kick-Ass should that come as a surprise? The film is due in theaters on April 16, 2010. and make sure to stay tune to Comic Impact for a special podcast when the films hits theaters.
