Figure Friday:Marvel Universe Wolverine (X-Force )

Published on February 12th, 2010

Ok it’s that time again, where we take a look at a figure and let you know if you need to buy it or leave it at the store. This week we’re going to look at the Wolverine Marvel Universe (X-Force ) figure.

Package Description

Claws are only part of what makes WOLVERINE so dangerous. He has already lived three lifetimes, kept young and healthy by the healing factor that prevents him from being killed or badly injured. During that time, he has fought in a dozen wars, and learned more ways to fight than any person before him. Trained for decades and honed to perfection in the fire of countless battles, he is the ultimate soldier; the ideal warrior.

This figure is slightly taller then the X-Men Origins: Wolverine figures (which you can still find in stores). The figure is kind of weird. I’m not sure why he comes with his X-Force uniform, but he does have the appropriate blood red eyes. Hasbro did a nice job on the paint job and I love the flesh-colored plastic. This was a nice touch for the line. He has pretty much the same body Daredevil has which makes me suspect this is Hasbro’s template for these figures.

He comes with an all red Katana Blade ( Why is it all red? Your guess is as good as mine) and he also comes with a gun. Why?

Wolverine’s claws don’t come off. They are very weak and since they are made out of a soft plastic they bend and look like shit. Just take a look at the left hand on the photo.

He has ball style shoulders, swivel biceps, hinge elbows, swivel wrists, a ball style chest, swivel waist, ball hips, double hinged knees and hinge/swivel ankles. He also has the issue which I have found with a lot of these Marvel Universe figures. That is, that their torsos feel like they will break if I play with them. Just take a look at the photo and you can see what I’m talking about. His elbow can turn as well as move forward and backward. He also can turn his foot in or out from the body and that’s a bit weird if you ask me.

He does have a lot of dynamic poses so if your looking for great range of movement then Logan is your man.

Final Judgment 6/10
I do love the way this figure looks, it is very sexy, but I don’t know if I would buy it based on that alone. So far it is the BEST Wolverine figure that Hasbro has put out in this size. In fact, most of the Wolverine Origins film figure were shit. I wish I had a time machine so I could go back in time and not buy them. This is a cool figure if your trying to get all the X-men or make an X-Force team like myself. Now I need to find a Warpath.
