Figure Friday: Marvel Universe Ms.Marvel

Published on September 25th, 2009

This week we’re going to take a look at Ms. Marvel from Marvel Universe. This is kind of a big deal since it is the first time we’re taking a look at a female sculpt, Marvel Universe figure. This line only has two females in it, the other one is Firestar from  the 3-pack Toys ‘R’ Us Exclusive . Please note this review is NOT for the Ms.Marvel Classic figure.

Package Description
Her human DNA fused with that of the mighty Kree warrior Mar-Vell, Carol Danvers became the superhuman powerhouse known as Ms. Marvel. Currently, she adventures as a member of the Avengers™, as well as serving as the commander of the special S.H.I.E.L.D. strike team known as Operation: Lightning Storm.

Appearance
She has one of the worst face sculpts in the history of figures. I don’t know what the hell they where smoking when they made her face.  It looks HIDEOUS, if you read the comics you know Ms.Marvel is kind of hot.  But this figure,WOW, looks like Optimus Prime ran her over. Talk about a BAD sculpt,  it look like her  thighs are not the right size for the female sculpt. Her arms look like she was shooting up heroin, they are super skinny. The paint job on her boots looks like they never finished, just slapped it on and let her keep on going down the line. I usually enjoy these boots on the ladies. *Simon side Note, “Please see Watchmen Sex Scene for further example”*
Poseability
Her waist is as loose as a Tijuana hooker and the whole top half of her body spins like Linda Blair’s head in The Exorcist.  She has horrible balance, to begin with, because of the spinning but is impossible to pose once you put her “cosmic blast” on.

Final Judgment 0/10
This is one the worst figures I have opened and play with. I am 31 years old and have opened a lot of figures in my life. SAVE YOUR MONEY go buy yourself a sandwiched. I am sure that would be a lot better then this figure. I give this two minutes on the playground before a kid snaps her in half. I hope hasbro works on a better female sculpt because I don’t think I would be buying more Marvel Universe with female sculpts like this one.
