SDCC 2009: Marvel Animation

Published on July 27th, 2009

Here is some news from Marvel Animation at this year’s San Diego Comic Con:

  • Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes moves to Nicktoons with a fall lineup of 26-episodes… some that have not been seen in the U.S.
  • Iron Man Armored Adventures will also be on Nicktoons.
  • Villains include Ultimo, Ghost, the Controller, Living Laser, and MODOK.
  • Angel will become Archangel on Wolverine and the X-Men.
  • Planet Hulk will make a direct to DVD movie in February. I can’t wait for this. Also I am sure Comic Impact staff member Butmac is going to love this news.

We got to see some very sexy teasers for the two upcoming anime projects:

Marvel Entertainment Inc., has partnered with renowned Japanese animation studio Madhouse and multiple-Eagle Award winner Warren Ellis to create four all new anime versions of classic Marvel Super Heroes. Here is an exciting first glimpse of WOLVERINE! I am not in love with the design of Logan.

You know I love this one and I can’t wait since I am such a fanboy when it comes to Iron Man. They are also  in the  workings for X-Men and Blade anime projects due in 2010, and a Thor: Tales of Asgard for  2011.
