Casting News: Marvel Films

Published on January 14th, 2009

As I’m sure you’ve heard, Samuel L. Jackson might be backing out of negotiations to play military macho, Nick Fury, when it comes to any upcoming Marvel Studios productions.

“There was a huge kind of negotiation that broke down,” said Jackson. “I don’t know. Maybe I won’t be Nick Fury. Maybe somebody else will be Nick Fury or maybe Nick Fury won’t be in it. There seems to be an economic crisis in the Marvel Comics world so [they’re saying to me], ‘We’re not making that deal.'”

You can check out the full details from yesterday’s post on the the L.A Times blog here.

And in OTHER Iron Man-related news items, check out the schwet sweepstakes from Marvel:

From Marvel.com:

Marvel and Paramount have teamed up to to give away some sweet Iron Man freebies with the “Iron Man: Aerial Assault” Sweepstakes.

All you have to do to enter for a chance to win some Shellheady stuff is head over to ironmaniwin.com.

It’s a promo to get the word out about the new Iron Man game for iPhone (which you can download from iTunes here). By entering, you can win a year subscription to Marvel Digital, an Iron Man Blu Ray, posters, apparel, and lots of other cool junk.

I hope the folks at Marvel don’t become wise to the fact that I’ve entered the contest about 25 times with different identities, just like I did with the Mirage Studios Ninja Turtles Shell-ebration Kick-off Sweepstakes. I NEEDED to have those full-sized TMNT Bronze statues in my life, okay?
