It was bound to happen sooner or later. ComicImpact has an interview with pretty-art-guy, Gabriel Bautista. Yes, he colors All-Star Western from DC Comics. Yes, he has drawn pictures for the awesome comic, Elephantmen. Yes, he has a new project in the works with Joshua Hale Fialkov.
But, we barely talk about any of that. Mostly, we goof around and dance and lean. We learn what Mr. Bautista really looks at while he’s talking to Susan and how much Sheldon drinks. Either way, watch this unorthodox encounter with this awesome...

I love to come across books that are like nothing else. I found that in the independent title, Holli Hoxxx. There’s a lot going on in here, and I listen as co-creator, Adam Tinius, tells me all about what it takes to make this book. Seriously, this is such a unique idea, and I felt super lucky to have the chance to hear about it. Watch it and appreciate what creators go through to make their books a reality.

Not to brag, but I have met a lot of creators at a lot of conventions. I have to say that no one has had me more excited or more nervous than Scott Snyder. Sure, I make jokes about stalking him and voodoo magic, but Mr. Snyder is a horror writer and gets me.
Maybe I’m projecting, but I don’t care. I reveled in the opportunity to talk with one of my favorite writers.
Try not to notice the shades of red and pink I become as Scott Snyder and I talk everything from Severed to Batman. I have to say that Mr. Snyder was...

Today it was confirmed by Comic Con International that WonderCon 2012 will be moving from San Francisco’s Moscone Center to the Anaheim, CA. The reason being the major construction project that will be going on at the Moscone Center. Not only has the venue changed but so have the dates. WonderCon, which for the past few years had been held Easter weekend will now take place March 16th-March 18th 2012.
This has caused a bit of a Con shuffle as C2E2 just announced they are moving the dates of their show from March to April.

2011 marks the 25th anniversary of San Francisco’s WonderCon and the convention’s growth, particularly within the last few years, has been remarkable to say the least. When I first began attending in the late 90’s the convention was held across the Bay in Oakland (then its home since its inception in 1987) and was still a moderately low-key affair. With its move to the Moscone Center in 2003, attendance has grown steadily with every passing year. Most astounding is the jump from last year’s head count...

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen any new footage from the upcoming Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds as the emerald crusader. In fact, the last time was in November of last year. This weekend at Wondercon, fans got to see some brand new footage and thanks to the great people over at Apple, you can watch an abridged 4-minute version of this footage in 1080 HD, that was also shown at CinemaCon.
The film looks like there’s still a little too much CGI in it, but I am not going to lie. I did dork out...

Welcome to part 3, the final chapter, of my WonderCon wrap-up. We’ve heard about the Aspen Comics panel, Image Comics panel and the DC Brightest Day panel so far. But of course panels aren’t the only fun to be had at conventions. I also got to chat with a lot of great people and pick up little facts. Below I have a couple of random facts I happened upon as well as some pictures from my weekend.

Welcome to part 2 of my WonderCon wrap-up. Let’s review a couple of general notes before we begin, any panel recaps are not claimed as strict transcripts, most are just the gist of what was said, unless there is something in quotes. Anything in Italics is tangents and commentary by yours truly. Also, panels may contain spoilers. Please enjoy below information from the Image Comics panel and the DC Brightest Day panel. I’ve broken things down into categories of discussion, hopefully it’s easy to follow.
