What’s that, you say? You haven’t completely slaked your lust for Wizard World Anaheim content? Well, boy howdy! Have we got something special for you wonderful people! TIME FOR CON SKETCHES!
As many of you know, we at Comic Impact LOVE getting ourselves some sketches at conventions. Con sketches really are the best, most unique souvenir you can get from a convention. Every comic convention will have an artist alley, some are big, some small. Some of the more better known artists will charge a bit more...

So, I keep getting asked what I thought of Wizard World Anaheim. It was awesome. I had never been before, and it lived up to all its expectations. I mean, I didn’t go in expecting a San Diego situation, which was probably smart of me. I think the ambiance is a lot more chill (if that makes any sense). It gave me a chance to do what I do best – talk to creators. I’m a huge supporter of creator owned work, and to have a chance to really get into it with these guys was an incredible opportunity. I’d like to share a couple...

Other than Comic Con International down in San Diego, I haven’t been to any other comic book related convention. That is until 2011 Wizard World Anaheim. Oh, sure I’ve been to other conventions; electronics, automobile, sports memorabilia. However, this event seems to have been the most (for lack of a better phrase) “user friendly.”
Don’t get me wrong, I am not knocking CCI in any way, shape, or form. It’s just that over the years it seems to have lost that feeling of getting to the fans and...

It’s time for another interview from Wizard World Anaheim! Who are we talking to this time? Look at the title. Duh. Writer, Zeb Wells was kind enough to take time off from his busy schedule to have a nice friendly chat with Ken during the convention. Mr. Wells talks about his latest work with Marvel Comics. Including, but not limited to New Mutants and Carnage.
It’s definitely one of the more memorable interviews we’ve had here at Comic Impact. So, grab yourself a bottle of whiskey and enjoy the video!

Cosplay Girl of the Year, Kit Quinn, asks the question, “Who is Thor?” at Wizard World Anaheim. Find out who knew the god best, which Marvel creators threw their two cents in the mix, and who just had no idea what she was talking about. Who knew this question would evoke that “deer in the headlights” looks from so many. Also, we learn age has no factor in knowledge. So watch ask yourself, how much do you know about The God of Thunder.
Just in case you did not know, Thor is directed by Kenneth Branagh....

On Monday Gareb Shamus announced that Wizard:The Guide To Comics and Toyfare will no loner be in print production. For many of us who grew up in the 90’s (pre-Facebook,Myspace) our only big comic news outlet was Wizard: The Guide to Comics. Wizard started in 1991 by Gareb Shamus and Stephen Shamus and over a period of 20 years proceeded to do something unheard of before with a comics magazine. They got a different artist each month to draw the cover that incorporated characters not only from the big 2 but also from smaller...

Although independent Irish comic company Berserker has been publishing for less than two years and has but a small handful of titles to their name, they are producing some of the highest quality horror releases of today. With a talent pool that includes some of the top names in comics such as Alan Grant, Simon Bisley, and Glenn Fabry, this is one small company that has more than hit the ground running. I suspect that one reason these heavy-hitters from across the pond are telling their stories at Berserker is that they are just...

While at Wizard World Anaheim I found this great book Going Boldly by TJ Sullivan. The book is a condensed version of the weekly web comic about Tim Desoto, a mission patch designer for the space program. He is friends with an ego maniac astronaut, Danger “Roc” Strong and has an official space program assigned Gremlin named Ed. Just with that I was so intrigued and very much NOT let down.
I think the greatest thing about this concept is as strange as it sounds it works so well. Ed, is hilarious, the form to all the...

Last weekend gave us the inaugural edition of the Wizard World Anaheim Comic Con and although I had fun I have mixed feelings about the event to say the least. I do have a bit of a rant concerning the event (and others like it) to get up on the soapbox about, but I’d like to save that for the end of this report and spend some time first spotlighting some of the cool comics creators, dedicated cosplayers, and eminently fun pop culture ephemera to be found at the event.
Some of the biggest attention getters on a con floor...

On Fridays here at ComicImpact, we take a look at some various action figures and review them, to let you know in our opinion if they’re worth your money or not. But this week we’re going to take a break from reviewing figures, since last Friday we went down to Wizard World Anaheim 2010. This week we’re talking with Bill Roshia of Shocker Toys. In this interview, we are taking a look at their Indie Spotlight figures, and also, Bill was nice enough to show us the upcoming 3rd series of Indie Spotlight figures....

Remember when Wizard World Los Angeles was canceled? I sure do since I live in Los Angeles. Now it looks like the people from Wizard World have just announced that they are bringing Wizard World back to Southern California. This time at the Anaheim Convention Center on April 16-18, 2010.
“We had an outpouring of requests by fans and partners to return to Southern California, and felt that Anaheim was the best place to come back to,” said Gareb Shamus, CEO of Wizard Entertainment in a release. ”
