Well my guess is that our own Sheldon Lee feels like this is a step in the right direction.
Sony announced that they will be releasing a digital comic reader in November for the PSP and Marvel Comics will be one of the companies supplying them with titles. The titles will be limited to classic books and back issues though. This news is good for one reason only: it shows that Marvel is at least acknowledging the world of digital downloads outside of anything on their website. Other than that, this project is going to crash and...

If you’ve been following my writings on ComicImpact in the short while I’ve been here, and listened to the Trade Tuesday I did a few weeks ago, then you’ll be aware that I have a real love for the Halo franchise, be it the video games, the novels, the comics, the list goes on, I’ve got Halo figures as well, that’s how much I love it!
So a few months ago, when I found that Marvel were going to be releasing a second Halo limited series, I was over the moon with joy! All I knew was that it would be...

More The Punisher: No Mercy Info
I’m a big Punisher fan, did you hear? Well, there’s an exclusive PSN game coming out called The Punisher: No Mercy. It’s a $10 arena shooter that lets you go around and shoot up your friends online with all kinds of fun weapons in urban environments (just like The Punisher!!). It’s got a story written by Mike Deodato that’s exclusive to the actual game itself. You can also play the game online with 2 player co-op. If you watch the trailer above you can see that it...

I’d say somewhere around…today I recovered from my trip to Los Angeles where I was reunited with Sheldon, Simon, and Andy. You see, I was out there to cover E3 2009 for a video game website I write for and while I’ve always dreamed of attending E3, it was exhausting. However, it wasn’t so exhausting that I don’t have a funny story for our loyal Comic Impact readers. So here we go.
On Day 2 of E3 I had about 2 hours of time to kill in between appointments to roam the show floor and get to check stuff...

Yes, if you are a gamer than chances are you know that E3 is taking place in L.A. right now. Due to this I have decided to make the theme of this Manga Monday about gaming.
Now as you are probably aware (you do read my posts, right?) I went to London MCM Expo last weekend and I actually did buy some manga. Yes, I know its hard to believe but I didn’t actually spend all of my money on cocktails in China Town. The manga I bought caught my eye instantly because it is actually the manga version of my favourite video game! Now...

We all enjoyed our beloved Butmac’s video which featured Batman having issues with lust involving one Pamela Isley a.k.a Poison Ivy. Well this new video from Batman Arkham Asylum shows a little more… ummm… ‘insight’ as to why that might be an issue:
Yes Please!!

Well this should really not surprise anyone. Counting the X-Men Legend games, this will be Deadpool’s 3rd appearance as a playable character. The above video shows him and Iron Fist fighting some generic henchmen. I can’t watch these and without wishing they were showing gameplay INSTEAD of close-ups of in-game fighting. It doesn’t look good that close up. Oh well!

Last week I received a copy of the new Wolverine game. I’ve spent the entire week playing it, beating it, and forming an expert opinion of it so that I can direct our faithful readers as to whether or not they should play this game. It’s hard work being me. I’ll be upfront about this though, I haven’t seen the new Wolverine movie. After hearing lackluster things about it, I decided to spend my $10 on a hooker instead. Hooker?! I hardly know her!
You start off playing Wolverine in what’s called the...

Let me explain what this post has ultimately done. It has now sent Simon into a frenzy trying to figure out how he can buy a PS3 to play the Media Molecules game, Little Big Planet. I (thankfully) already own this! For those of you who are unfamiliar, Little Big Planet is basically a side scrolling game where you play as a sack person to whom you can add different clothes and build your own levels and things on the Playstation 3. It is still one of my favorite games aside from MGS4 and Drake’s Fortune.
Apparently, a deal...

Sony has reconfirmed the existance of DC’s greatest super-strength zombie villain, Solomon Grundy in the upcoming MMO DC Universe Online. He was last seen in a preview trailer for the game last June during E3, but today’s screenshots have far more pixels to show off how angry Grundy is with S.T.A.R. Labs.
Too bad that’s not the only thing that’s making him mad. During last month’s GDC, the president of Sony Online Entertainment reportedly said that DCU was being pushed back into 2010. No specific...

Sweet fancy Delilah. After a couple months of feeling pretty “meh” about X-Men Origins: Wolverine Video Game I am happy to announce I am officially pumped. The above trailers has everything you want in your Wolverine video game, save one thing: I CAN’T UNHEAR GAMBITS VOICE! I thought his voice was bad in the X-Men Legends games but this is just as awful. I’m starting to wish I could go back and time and just convince whoever created Gambit that he should be from Boston or something and to just trust me...

Video games just got a little more “Rand”y this week with the addition of Iron Fist in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion. If you didn’t get that amazingly crafted joke then you would just absolutely hate me as a person. With Iron Fist confirmed that now makes it two characters so far that weren’t in the first game, the other being…Song Bird. It’s like they knew exactly which Marvel character I had almost forgotten about/never cared about and thought it’d be a great idea to slap them...

Remember a while back when we posted about Batman Arkham Asylum? I still go back and watch video’s of it personally…
I know sad. Well originally the special edition of the game was supposed to just come with a 12 inch Batarang to defend yourself against all the crazy different Batmen in your secret underground subway layer. Well not any more!!! Hit the jump to see the complete special edition pictures with details for this game and let me tell ya it is a doozy!!!
It now appears to come with a 14 inch Batarang...

So apparently Robert Kirkman and Brian Micheal Bendis are so happy about the upcoming Marvel MMO they have to hold one another. However they will be holding each other for a while as the MMO is not scheduled to come out until 2012!! So it looks like the DC Universe Online will have some competition from Marvel! Here is hoping they learn from other MMO’s that came before it.
Simon Phillips, who is Marvel’s president of worldwide consumer products had this to say.
It sounds like a long way away, but it’s not....

Well I am sure my last article left you saying to us “Please Sir can I have some more?” . Well we aren’t like the cruel headmaster in Oliver and we deliver!!! Below is a AWESOME video given to us by the fine folks working on Batman Arkham Asylum!
In the video above the games director Sefton Hill walks us through one of the challenge rooms. I gotta say the attention to detail in this game is amazing!!! Here is hoping we see more from them!!!!!

Hey, Batman Arkham Asylum looking good to you yet? Well according to the guys behind the game it is in the finishing stages right now and is expected to be out on the PS3 ,Xbox360 and PC by June!!! Apparently in a attempt to pack the game as full as Batman’s Utility belt they are putting in challenge modes in order for us to have some repeated game play…..which is fine by me!!
The game itself looks really great!!! It plays a lot like Metal Gear Solid but instead of guns you have your batbelt with all the gadgets!!!...

If you’re super excited about the new Wolverine movie coming out soon, then you can hopefully satiate a bit of your appetite by playing X-Men Origins: Time Warrior. You play as Wolverine in three different levels the Civil War, World War I, and Vietnam!
Wait…what?
Well, uh, I guess this is what happens when I leave my journal of “Amazing Games I Want To Play But Know They Will Never Come To Fruition” just laying around. People steal your ideas. Anyway, give the game a world and let me know what you think...

Here’s a real mystery for you True Believers out there. The above images are excerpts from two individuals whose resumes claim they worked on Ultimate Spider-Man 2.
That statement may not carry much weight, but if you’re a rabid comic book video game fan then you would know that that game has never even been announced.
In 2005 Activision released Ultimate Spider-Man. It was based off of the Brian Michael Bendis comic book of the same name. It used the same mechanics that Spiderman 2 did, in that it was an open world,...

Hey remember when Doomsday killed Superman? Remember when Superman came back and didn’t die at all? I love marketing strategies too!
But really, if I could pick a favorite Superman villain, it would most definitely be Doomsday. He’s got a cool look and he’s kind of like the Juggernaut of the DC Universe.
Kotaku posted the above video today showing what I’m guessing is an instance in the upcoming MMO DC Universe Online. Based on if you are a hero or villain you will either help Superman defeat Doomsday...

If you like comics then it’s safe to say that you like Watchmen. And if you don’t, then it’s safe to say that you’re a terrible person.
Well, Paramount is pushing out yet another ad campaign for the upcoming film, however, this time they are doing it interactively. That’s right folks, the 10-15 people that still are using Playstation Home can very soonly download costumes to dress up their avatars like Nite Owl or Rorschach so that the other 9-14 people can ask them “What’s a Watchmen?”
Whoa,...

Hey gang looks like I am just turning them out today!!!!! The hype train is still rolling on with Watchmen. If you go to http://www.minutemenarcade.com/uk/ you will find a nifty little Old School 8 Bit (Double Dragon like) Watchmen game. It is pretty much what you would expect from a flash game so don’t go thinking it is “next gen”. It is a great work time waster for sure and it pays omage to some of video games finest hour the days of the NES. Click on the gallery below to see some pictures of the 8-Bit goodness...

Hello Ladies and Gents!
Well while our self proclaimed know it all on video games Butmac was asleep it looks like they released a new trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine!!! I know this is just a video game trailer but after watching this I gotta say this movie might erase the shit soup of a movie that was X-Men 3…is that even possible?? I’m not gonna beat around the bush with this one. I’m basically known as the comic book based video games expert. So, when I get excited about one of these such games, you should probably pay attention. PAY ATTENTION.
Alright, so I wasn’t super-crazy-pumped about Batman: Arkham Asylum, until I saw the above trailer on Destructoid this morning. Let it be known that if you are going to make a trailer about a game, do it like you would a movie trailer and set up the STORY. Don’t just show clips of explosions...

Hey bub - do you like the X-Men or Wolverine? Then you will love this blog.
It looks like Activision launched a new website this week at Uncaged.com.

1Up.com has posted over 20 screenshots from the PS 3 game. What do you guys think? Are you going to kick some ass with Logan? I am not the big-time game, so I am sure Sheldon...
