If you have been reading here at the site or listening to the podcasts for a while, you know I love the Green Lanterns. In fact, there is one sexy lantern I would like to get to know if I was part of the DC Universe. I’m talking about Arisia. But what is she like as a figure? This week we are looking at Green Lantern Arisia Blackest Night figure from wave 3. She is in the same wave as Larfleeze, Aquaman and Star Sapphire.

This week we’re going to take a look at a twin pack from the “Secret Wars” Marvel Universe line. This two-figure pack, (or as Hasbro likes to call it, this “twin pack”) is of Hawkeye & Piledriver. Im not going to bullshit you, I got this pack because I wanted a Hawkeye figure, I don’t really give a shit about Piledriver.
It also comes with a reprint of Secret Wars #9, but neither Hawkeye nor Piledriver show up in that issue. Well, now on with the review. Please note this review is for both figures, so I will...

This week we’re looking at the Kryb Blackest Night figure, from the second wave of Blackest Night figures, by the good people over at DC Direct. Let me tell you something, this is one fucking creepy figure.. but that works, since Blackest Night is the biggest story in comics right now, because the dead are rising.
Package Description
Long thought to be a terrifying myth in many sectors of the universe, Kryb’s obsession with patricide and her quest to imprison “liberated” infants in the cage-like sac on...

So it’s friday and it’s time for a new Figure Friday, so this week we are going to take a look at a Green Lantern John Stewart figure from Blackest Night. So far these toys have not been the best around, but yet I have been loving the DC Comic’s Blackest Night story. To be honest I know that DC Direct’s figures are not the best figures to play with, they’re more figures that are there to sit nicely on your shelf.
Now on with the review.

This week we’re going to take a look at Union Jack from Marvel Universe 3 3/4 line of figures. I also am a big Union Jack fan…check out my Trade Tuesday on the Union Jack TPB.

The Rulk from the Marvel 3 ¾ inch series is actually a good figure in a very crappy line. I don’t like this series at all. I don’t like the spindly legs and arms. I don’t like the fragility of this line. I don’t like the double joints which is a big reason I didn’t collect the Marvel Legends series. And most of all, I don’t like the choking hazards disguised as accessories. The reason why the Rulk is a good figure is it strays from the spindly legs while keeping scale with the rest of the line.

At first this article was going to be about the DCU Classic series Superman and Brainiac Two-Pack. This is a great figure pack and the DCU Classics series is still my current favorite action figure line and blah, blah, blah. Instead I’d like to write about Mattel’s questionable business practice when it comes to releasing their action figures. Because of their company practice they make it extremely hard to get their product.
Inside Mattel, there is a sub-division called Matty Collector. Through this Matty Collector line...

Here’s just a sample from the DC Direct Ame-Comi line up of really well designed vinyl figures! This figure line gives us a twist on the traditional take of the female characters from the DC Universe. It gives them an anime design including the typical gigantic eyes, youthful appearance, and huge boobs that define the genre. They have also changed the costuming to reflect anime styling while at the same time retaining the traditional elements of each heroine’s costume. Several figures have been released so far, including...

The guys over at Mattel have a huge man-crush on Jack Kirby and that’s OK with me. The Parademon is the sixth figure in the DCU Classics line from the Fourth World. He joins Mr. Miracle, Big Barda, Orion, Lightray, and the truly outstanding collect and connect figure Kalibak from series six. With Mantis confirmed for series nine and Forager rumored for series 10, Mattel seems committed to completing Jack Kirby’s Fourth World.

One of my favorite DC Comic characters is Batman. I used to watch the 1970’s cartoon (yeah, the one with Bat-Mite!) when I was only a few months old back in the 70’s, before Michael Jackson was walking around touching kids in funny ways. Oh shit was that to soon? Eep. So you want to take a guess at what figure we’re going to take a look at for this week’s Figure Friday ? That’s right- Batman from DC Universe Classics series 1!

If you have been reading Comic Impact for sometime now you know that I LOVE IRON MAN! He is hands down my favorite Marvel character of all time. Since I was a kid I was in love with all his bad ass armor, and one of the first things I told myself when the Iron Man movie was in the works was that Marvel would grace us with a bunch of action figures in cool armor.
I was right about that, as there has been a lot of Iron Man movie figures with variations on the armor. In this weeks Figure Friday we’re going to take a look...

What is rapidly becoming my favorite toy line of all time, the DCU Classics collection, has a glaring weakness. They have yet to get Superman right and they’ve had four tries. This time they gave him a mullet. Really, Mattel and DC? That’s how you want your flagship character to be seen? You guys want to depict him with the worst haircut in the history of western civilization? Good call.
