Ok I am not a big Thor fan but I do enjoy looking at Jack Kirby and Olivier Coipel artwork. After watching this Comic Con Trailer that was leaked I can now say WOW I can’t wait for this film. It looks like Marvel studio and Kenneth Branagh have done this the right way. I don’t want to go on for to long, just watch
this trailer.
Are you done watching and now counting down the days like I am? THOR is directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins,...

A lot of big announcements came out of San Diego Comic Con this past week, and whether you were there or not it will be likely that you’ve heard about some of them. I wasn’t fortunate enough to be there this past week, unlike everyone else on the Comic Impact team, but I was able to watch the news flow in from afar. I tell you what though dear readers, I had a heck of a time catching up on all the announcements and news since I only came back home from France on the last day of Comic Con’. There are some really...

The new Batman film is starting filming right now in the streets of New York City. Ok maybe not, it looks like Russell Brand was spotted in lower Manhattan Saturday wearing a Batman costume and Luis Guzman as they filming for the remake of Arthur.
If you look closely, you’ll notice that his “utility belt” has tiny bottles of liquor, a flask, a shot glass, some exploding confetti. I know I would ad bottle of Jagermeister on my utility belt. The new version of Arthur has been written by Peter Baynham he has work on stuff...

Next week is San Diego Comic Con, so it’s time for Entertainment Weekly to put up their Special Comic Con Preview. What’s the best thing you can put on the cover? A photo of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. I am sure that would get a lot of buzz on the internet. So much so that my mail box was full of it today.

Ok, so yesterday we showed you the concept designs of what Chris Evans would look like as Captain America. But now how about some photos of what Chris Hemsworth looks like as Thor.
If you re-call sometime ago, we had posted a photo of Hemsworth dressed as Thor, and it look badass, yet I am not 100% sure if this is official. I am not big fan of his hammer, Mjolner glowing. There is something about these photos that look a bit too CG, and they feel a bit weird.

I begin with a simple premise: Science Fiction is harder to do in literature, movies and television than straight drama.
Why? Doctors, lawyers and police have inherent drama we all know an understand on a visceral level.
Science Fiction posits “what ifs” and world’s that don’t exist. Where do you begin and how do you make it believable? Two series I follow are “Heroes” and “Smallville” They both deal with “what if” as opposed to “what is. Watching...

So here it is, the trailer that made me change my pants while I was working at the comic shop. Sure, it’s only a small, less than three minute tease, but if the movie is anything like this…All us fans of Shell Head are in for a HUGE treat. I mean, who doesn’t love The Iron Man cheerleaders? This is only part of the fun in this trailer.
Take a look at the circled content in this image. Could this be Titanium Man/Crimson Dynamo? I know, from an inside source, there was a suit made for him for the first movie that...

Love having AC/DC in the background. It’s maintaining the same look as the first film and it looks like Tony Stark’s is loving the live style of a superhero. Why the fuck not right I know I would.
Jon Favreau-directed sequel stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel...

So Film4 here in the UK currently has a whole string of week nights dedicated to Asian films. One night saw me watching a film taken from a hugely popular manga, and that’s pretty much the one for this weeks Manga Monday.
Starting in December 2003 and lasting for 12 volumes, Death Note was a massive success. It follows the story of an extremely intelligent highschool student, know as Light. He finds a black book, a book known as ‘The Death Note’, dropped onto the earth by a God of Death. Light learns that by simply writing...

We don’t don’t know what happened to Comic Film Snob, maybe he got taken out by Kick Ass, but here is the trailer for the movie based on Mark Millar and John Romita Jr’s comic, “Kick Ass.”
I was lucky enough to see a screening of this film with Comic Impact staff members, Rich and Dana and we all agreed that this movie lived up to the amazing book it represents. For more on that, read Rich’s love letter to director Matthew Vaughn . Enjoy the trailer Mother Fuckers!

Hey Impacters! As most of you may know, I am a big Doctor Who fan. So, with the begining of the end of David Tennant as “The Doctor” approaches I wanted to make sure you knew when “The Waters of Mars” will be airing. BBC One will be airing it November 15, 2009 at 7pm but it will not be aired in The U.S. until December 19, 2009 at 9pm. For those of you as anxious as I am to see the episode, and don’t want to wait until December, I would like to remind you there are ALTERNATIVE ways to see it.

It’s been a long time coming, and might I say it’s still as sweet as ever. Coming at you again with another DC Direct release, DC has returned to animated maquettes since is series done for Brice Timm’s Justice League.
Beginning with the release of Wonder Woman from her animated feature, followed up by Hal Jordan from his appearance in First Flight. As usual these maquettes capture there animated likenesses with very simple sculpts and straight forward poses. Hal’s stance is that of a man without fear,...

Last week I got to Watch Kick- Ass the film base on the Mark Millar and John Romita Jr comic book. The story of Kick-Ass goes something like this comic book fanboy Dave Lizewski who decides to become a hero to save New York city from real bad guys. There some actual injuries and some serious amounts of violence in this book
This film stars Nicolas Cage (Big Daddy), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red Mist), Aaron Johnson (Dave Lizewski a.k.a Kick-Ass), and Chloe Moretz (Hit-Girl). The film is due out sometime in 2010.

From the trauma of war in Oliver Stone films to hospital humor on Scrubs, John C. McGinley has covered the acting gamut. But in his latest role – as the voice of Metallo in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies – McGinley finally gets to delve into a characterization he has rarely been offered: pure villainy.
McGinley voices one of the featured villains in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, a blockbuster blast of super heroes and villains alike that includes the voices of Kevin Conroy (Batman), Tim Daly (Superman), Clancy Brown (Lex...

So, now that AMC (The channel, not the theater) has picked up the rights to one of the hottest Image titles around, It’s time for “teh inter-tubes” to collectively speculate on the whole situation, so here are my two cents…
First of all, Frank Darabont is going to write, direct and produce the series. This is the man that adapted the epic Shawshank Redemption and emotional Green Mile for the screen. Why are these significant? Both films deal heavily with themes of being trapped against one’s...

It’s common knowledge that Stan Lee has made some great cameo’s in all of the Marvel films (my favorite is the mail man at the Baxter Building in both Fantastic Four movies).
So naturally, Stan will have another cameo in Iron Man 2. You may recall that one of the best cameos of all time (and Stan’s first) was when he portrayed Hugh Hefner in Iron Man. I am sure she will not have a big part in the film considering it is so late into the production (plus, I ‘m pretty sure she can’t act), but here are some of my guesses as to who she is going to be playing in the movie- a television personality or a ‘lady friend’ of Mr. Stark. Oooooh...
