If you have been reading here at the site or listening to the podcasts for a while, you know I love the Green Lanterns. In fact, there is one sexy lantern I would like to get to know if I was part of the DC Universe. I’m talking about Arisia. But what is she like as a figure? This week we are looking at Green Lantern Arisia Blackest Night figure from wave 3. She is in the same wave as Larfleeze, Aquaman and Star Sapphire.

This week we’re going to take a look at a twin pack from the “Secret Wars” Marvel Universe line. This two-figure pack, (or as Hasbro likes to call it, this “twin pack”) is of Hawkeye & Piledriver. Im not going to bullshit you, I got this pack because I wanted a Hawkeye figure, I don’t really give a shit about Piledriver.
It also comes with a reprint of Secret Wars #9, but neither Hawkeye nor Piledriver show up in that issue. Well, now on with the review. Please note this review is for both figures, so I will...

This week we’re looking at the Kryb Blackest Night figure, from the second wave of Blackest Night figures, by the good people over at DC Direct. Just about every fan in Sector 2814 can say the oath, unfortunately we rarely have the tools to make it just that much cooler. DC Direct has the solution with the latest addition to the “JLA Trophy Room” series of replicas.
There have been Power Battery releases before and the gamut included Alan Scott and Abin Sur’s lanterns but this reissue is made that much sweeter by being cast in metal as opposed to the plastic of previous releases.

Here’s just a sample from the DC Direct Ame-Comi line up of really well designed vinyl figures! This figure line gives us a twist on the traditional take of the female characters from the DC Universe. It gives them an anime design including the typical gigantic eyes, youthful appearance, and huge boobs that define the genre. They have also changed the costuming to reflect anime styling while at the same time retaining the traditional elements of each heroine’s costume. Ok there are toys like Marvel Legends and DC Universe Classics then there are these bad boys that will take your Marvel Universe lunch money and look so fucking amazing doing it.
These are the kind of figures ( if you still want to call them figures ) that make me want to touch my self. The people over at Hot Toys are not just toy makers they are artists that know how to design some of the most life like head sculpts EVER , such as the Bruce Wayne head on the Batman body and the Tony Stark head on the Iron Man Mark III.

Sure Watchmen was number five at the box office this weekend. But fanboys such like my self can’t stop thinking about it ( I need to watch it one more time). Now we I have no idea how I found this on Amazon but I just found the weirdest movie tie-in of all time. It is a limited run of organic coffee. Who does not love coffee right? It is 100% organic specialty coffee from WATCHMEN unit photographer Clay Enos and his Organic Coffee Cartel.
If you saw the film or read the book you know there is a part where Dan (Nite Owl...

Wow Watchmen merchandise does not stop from Kubrick toys to the Watchmen bear qee. I can’t wait to get my hand on the Watchmen Happy Meal over at Hooters where I can get my very own Nite Owl mask. Ok I know the film is not out yet but I am getting sick of all this merchandise.
Does anyone remember all the merchandise that came out with Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace ? Well this what it feels like to me. How disgusting is the Rorschach and The Comedian bear qee ?

Its release date of September 2009 isn’t any time soon, but I went ahead and pre-ordered the first way of Blackest Night Series 1 Set of Four Figures.
DC Direct is proud to produce action figures for THE event of the summer - the beginning of the highly-anticipated “Blackest Night” storyline! Included in this series are Earth-2 Superman, the first member of the lifeless, emotionless Black Lanterns to be revealed. Boodikka, the veteran corpsman who was among the first to become a member of the Green Lantern...

One of the best aspects of this toy is the packaging, and this Muggs has the best design I’ve seen yet - it feels like it jumps right out of the box.

Ok, ok, so I know this isn’t really comic book news….but c’mon, this is HILARIOUS. These Mickey Mouse Transformers were premiered at this year’s Tokyo Toy Show and specially released ONLY in Japan.
The blue and red version of the toys will be released in late February available for pre-order on Amazon JP here and at Rinkya.com here if you’re actually interested. And don’t worry guys, I won’t make fun of you for wanting one; they’re still technically Transformers, right?

One of the big hits in the world of comics in 2008 was Gerard Way ’s The Umbrella Academy. At first I told my self this is going to suck. I enjoy his music (My Chemical Romance) a lot but what does this guy know about comics. I love Gabriel Bá’s artwork. Yet I did not feel like reading this book.
Later on I talk to people and they told me it was great. When the trade came out I got my self a copy. I told my self-let’s see what this is all about. I remember the day. I went to get some lunch at Jack in the...
