I don’t know if you’re into comics or video games, but you probably want to check this trailer out if you are. It “officially” reveals Dante from Devil May Cry and Deadpool as playable characters. I say “officially” because everyone knows what each of these guys’ silhouette looks like from teaser posters.
Also, we are now taking theories on what the ending swirly fire is. Dormammu is in the game so it’s probably him, but I’m hoping for Galactus personally. Maybe even Mephisto.

I’m a pretty large proponent that when done correctly, science-fiction, is the greatest of all genres. However, even the term “sci-fi” has an unshakable stigma associated with it that conjures images of smelly nerds, fat nerds, and…awkward nerds.
Everyone has seen, or at least heard of, movies like Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Aliens, etc. However, there are some of the more hardcore fans who are deeply into those “cult sci-fi” franchises. Franchises like Logan’s Run.
Enter Paul J. Salamoff....

If you weren’t aware, DC Comics hasn’t ever had a video game that’s been generally well-received by the public or critics. Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe came close, but let’s face it, that was more of a matter that the game just wasn’t total crap. Over the years though the Batman franchise has been plagued with sub-par games. Personally, I was a fan of The Rise of Sin Tzu, but I was in the minority on that one. Anyway, the Batman games have never captured what it’s like to actually be the dark...

After months and months of waiting, this Tuesday Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 will finally be released. If you haven’t been following, the game will roughly follow the events of Marvel’s Civil War storyline.
Details on how this will actually play out as far as gameplay goes hasn’t been touched on as much. In fact, most of the previews and revealings have been on what characters are in the game and how many different costumes each one has. What characters are in the game?
How about: Cable, Juggernaut, Green Goblin,...

It is war at the Comic Impact office as Sheldon, Dana, Butmac, Simon and long time listener Carlos team up for this special podcast.
The story of the year, the milestone in comics…Disney buys Marvel.
Will Dana go read Jonas Brothers vs Thunderbolts? Does Butmac love the idea of The Punisher and Goofy joining forces for a limited series? Does Simon think the Hulk Pooh bear is the best idea of all time? How does Sheldon feel about Ed Brubaker doing a Captain Mickey Reborn story line?
All this and more on this episode of...

Well my guess is that our own Sheldon Lee feels like this is a step in the right direction.
Sony announced that they will be releasing a digital comic reader in November for the PSP and Marvel Comics will be one of the companies supplying them with titles. The titles will be limited to classic books and back issues though. This news is good for one reason only: it shows that Marvel is at least acknowledging the world of digital downloads outside of anything on their website. Other than that, this project is going to crash and...

File this one under: bargain! In the wake of declaring America’s new favorite chapter (chapter 11), Midway has lost it’s baby.
The Mortal Kombat franchise has been bought by Warner Bros., publishers of the upcoming game Batman: Arkham Asylum. How does this relate to comics?
Because now this means that the same people putting out Batman: Arkham Asylum will also be putting out a new Mortal Kombat vs. DC. Get excited, maybe this next one won’t suck.

My favorite fighting game of all time? Marvel vs. Capcom 2. It has loads of awesome Marvel characters and a perfect 2D fighting system. The game was supposed to be out this past Wednesday on Xbox Live Arcade, but instead has been pushed back to the end of July. It’ll be $15 and you can expect to see a review here on Comic Impact as soon as it’s released.

Since the conception of “Trade Tuesday” I’ve known that I’d cover this very special series that is my all-time favorite. Here at Comic Impact, we’ve all read a LOT of comics, so when we say something is our favorite - you better damn well listen up. I’m going to be splitting this up into three parts. The entire series of Supreme Power spans 18 issues, not including the spin-offs, so next month will be issues 7-12 while this month is obviously 1-6.
For those unfamiliar with Supreme Power it’s...

More The Punisher: No Mercy Info
I’m a big Punisher fan, did you hear? Well, there’s an exclusive PSN game coming out called The Punisher: No Mercy. It’s a $10 arena shooter that lets you go around and shoot up your friends online with all kinds of fun weapons in urban environments (just like The Punisher!!). It’s got a story written by Mike Deodato that’s exclusive to the actual game itself. You can also play the game online with 2 player co-op. If you watch the trailer above you can see that it...

Are you tired of how your Mighty Muggs just kinda sit around and do nothing except look awesome?
Well then, might I suggest you get to the San Diego Comic Con this year and stand in line for who knows how long to pick up this awesome exclusive?
It’s another Wolverine Mighty Mugg, and unfortunately it’s from the Wolverine Origins movie, BUT it has retractable claws! That’s right, the claws go in, and then guess what? They come back out again! What?! Neat!!
Also last year San Diego Comic Con exclusive Might Mugg ...

I’d say somewhere around…today I recovered from my trip to Los Angeles where I was reunited with Sheldon, Simon, and Andy. You see, I was out there to cover E3 2009 for a video game website I write for and while I’ve always dreamed of attending E3, it was exhausting. However, it wasn’t so exhausting that I don’t have a funny story for our loyal Comic Impact readers. So here we go.
On Day 2 of E3 I had about 2 hours of time to kill in between appointments to roam the show floor and get to check stuff...

Well kids if you are doing the math and keeping score then you know that June 1st is the six month mark since we started Comic Impact! It’s fitting too because while myself (Sheldon), Simon, and Andy are all local to L.A., we managed to get Butmac out to the West Coast for this monumental day to take part in some photos, a few beers, and comics!
Here are a couple pictures of Andy guzzling his second Bloody Mary with myself smiling gorgeously in the background, and Butmac giving the gun to his friend -D-. We had a brief...

What if instead of landing in Smallville, Kansas, Krypton had exploded 12 hours later and Superman ended up in Russia? That is essentially the entire premise of Superman: Red Son. Yes, instead of the classic ‘S’ on his chest, we are treated to a Superman donning the very communist hammer and sickle instead. I think it looks much better, but I also say better dead than red, so what do I know? Instead of Martha and Jonathan Kent raising the man of steel with American virtues, Superman is brought up by the late, great...

That’s right the celebratory 50th podcast of Comic Impact is here! Join Simon, Sheldon, and Butmac as they talk about the upcoming games Infamous and Prototype, which is also a comic from Wildstorm.
Find out the favorite comic book characters of the boys, what they think about Sam Raimi deciding to use Morbius as the main villain in the next ‘Spider-Man’ film, and which 5 comics they’d pick if they could only read that many for the rest of their lives!
But wait, there’s more! Find out who Sheldon...

Well this should really not surprise anyone. Counting the X-Men Legend games, this will be Deadpool’s 3rd appearance as a playable character. The above video shows him and Iron Fist fighting some generic henchmen. I can’t watch these and without wishing they were showing gameplay INSTEAD of close-ups of in-game fighting. It doesn’t look good that close up. Oh well!

The list started off with A.I.M.’s mental midget MODOK and ended with the most feared mutant in the Marvel Universe, Magneto.
I have to say I was fully expecting the Joker to take the top spot, but when I saw him at #2 the next obvious choice was Mags. I didn’t look at the entire list of 100, but I have to say that I found the top 10 to be sort of weird.
Kingpin at #10 just doesn’t seem right. Maybe in like like 1995, but now he seems like a random choice. Also, where the hell is Stilt-Man on this list?? Robbed...

Last week I received a copy of the new Wolverine game. I’ve spent the entire week playing it, beating it, and forming an expert opinion of it so that I can direct our faithful readers as to whether or not they should play this game. It’s hard work being me. I’ll be upfront about this though, I haven’t seen the new Wolverine movie. After hearing lackluster things about it, I decided to spend my $10 on a hooker instead. Hooker?! I hardly know her!
You start off playing Wolverine in what’s called the...

If you have a wall calender with a cute puppy or kitten on it for each month, I want you to go ahead and carve that animal’s eyes out and color in the square for May 8 with the darkest black marker you can find.
“Who’s killing whom? With Punisher, Slim Shady and Barracuda all armed to the teeth and gunning for each other, expect plenty of bullets, blood and betrayals in PUNISHER/EMINEM: KILL YOU by Fred Van Lente and Salvador Larroca.” -Marvel.com

Apparently movie-goers didn’t get the memo about X-Men Origins: Wolverine not exactly living up to the hype.
If you’re wondering what we here at Comic Impact think about the movie, well you’re gonna have to wait for the podcast in just a bit. However, if you’re into numbers and money (and I know you are) then you will be interested to know that Wolverine took in $87 million in the US alone this weekend. Worldwide earnings put the movie somewhere in the $170 million bracket. In case you spend all your...

I think I’m going to turn green I’ve written and talked about Planet/World War Hulk so damn much. I read every single tie-in associated with the World War Hulk series. Today’s Trade Tuesday I am going to talk about which ones were good that you should check out and now dwell on the bad ones like I did last time. Speaking of which, wow, I wrote a lot didn’t I
