Are you tired of the typical comics out there? Do you enjoy the excitement of reality tv? Join us as we talk to the man behind a very original idea for a comic, David B Schwartz. All this AND find out how you can make an impact on the way characters look in this Aspen book. Also Simon get his Coen brothers films confused as we learn more about Idolized. David Schwartz is the writer of Aspen’s Fathom: Blue Descent. It is easy to see why Idolized is the title that I am looking forward to the most from Aspen in 2012.

This past weekend I got to go to my first ever WonderCon and I thought I’d bring you guys back some news and the like. A couple of general notes before we begin, any panel recaps are not claimed as strict transcripts, most are just the gist of what was said, unless there is something in quotes. Anything in Italics is tangents and commentary by yours truly. Also, panels may contain spoilers. That being said lets begin.
I’m guessing most of you reading are curious about the panels that make conventions so exciting. ...

One of the features we do here at Comic Impact is the cosplay girl (NO anime, manga, role-playing games just comics) of the month, that’s right hot girls dressing up like your favorite super- hero characters. This month we’re privileged to have Meagan aka VirtualGirl. Found out how her love of video games got her into Cosplay.
What is your name? Meagan VanBurkleo, but I go by VirtualGirl on the interwebs.
How old are you? 25 years old!
Do you read comics and if so, what are your favorite titles? Yes, I love to read comics!...

Hey Comic Impact-ers! Dana checking in. Yesterday Simon and I attended the J.T. Krul signing at Galaxy of Comics and it was a blast. We had a great turn-up of fans and J.T., charismatic as always, was the life of the party. So what were we celebrating? Not only the release of Titans #19 (which if you haven’t picked up, is some of J.T.’s best work) but we also surprised J.T. with early birthday cupcakes.
If you’ve ever met J.T. you know he’s very kind to his fans. He spent a lot of one-on-one time...

Simon said he was getting an interview, and Matt said he was just shooting footage for the site, but I knew better.
No doubt, Lady Deadpool was foxy, but make sure you check out the other costumed crusaders from Long Beach.
When our impromptu shoot was over, we gathered our thoughts over pizza and planned our moves for the next day. Deciding that no time should be wasted, I grabbed the awesome Michael Alan Nelson for my very first video interview evar! (09, a year of firsts for me I guess).
Michael was so interesting. Here...

It’s really hard for me to write about things I like. I feel like it’s easier to talk about things that are wrong with a book. My first start of this review read “this book is neat, i really think you should read it.” In truth, that’s gonna be the heart of this review but I’m going to try to elaborate just a bit more.
For those of you not in the know, Soulfire is a comic about the resurgence of magic in the year 2211. It’s one of Michael Turner’s great contributions to the world...

I would later be told that this was what a con should be.
I was sitting outside and waiting to hear from Simon, my contact within. It was Saturday morning and I was full of spunk, the purity that comes with the excitement of the unknown. Somewhere inside the Long Beach Convention Center were artists and writers that I’d have to interview, minds I’d have to get inside of, and I had no idea what to say to any of them.
When I was done skulking around the outskirts I decided to join the party. Coming down the escalator...

Welcome back one and all, to the Pick Of The Week podcast for the comics of September 16th 2009. After Simon got his pick last week, now it’s Dana’s turn to have her pick, but surprisingly she doesn’t chose the second issue of a series that got its first issue as a Pick of the Week a while back.
So sit in, open wide, and let Simon, Dana & Rob give you your weekly dose of hardcore comic-book banter. It’s a Sheldon-less show this week unfortunatly, because on Sunday it was his birthday, so we told...
