We’re back Comic Impact listeners with another POW (Pick of the Week) podcast as Andy, Sheldon, and Simon talk about the best (and worst) comics from the week of July 22! Sorry for the lateness of this one, but with Sheldon and Simon visiting San Diego last week for Comic Con, it had to push things back a bit in the POW department.
Anyway, Andy has the pick this week and he went with the incredibly gory and bad ass X-Force #17! The guys also discuss Invincible #64, GI Joe #7, Amazing Spider-Man #600, Captain Britain and...

Fallen Angel: Reborn #1 published by I.D.W. came out in comic shops on Wednesdy and I have a special e-mail interview for you with series writer Peter David! The comic is an awesome noir story about the Fallen Angel, an outcast from Heaven, who has come to the city of Bete Noir to help those in need by delivering justice to the beings who deserve it. Think The Preacher meets X-Factor blended with Christian mythology and you’ve got Fallen Angel. Plus, Peter even takes the time to talk a little bit about what’s coming up...

So it is a new week and Sheldon has the POW (Pick of the Week)! Will he pick Batman #688 since Batman #687 was Andy’s pick a month ago?… or will he pick something like Dark X-Men: Beginning #1? Who knows, but we do know that it won’t be anything off beat (like Andy’s pick last week) since Sheldon doesn’t venture into the more indie books. Plus, why am I going to be reading President Evil? It sounds like something Andy would cover for Wacky Comic Wednesday.

Andy has the POW (Pick of the Week) for this first week in July- will he pick Captain America: Reborn #1 to make Sheldon happy, or will he go with Deadpool Merc With a Mouth #1 to tantalize Simon?
Honestly, he probably won’t pick either as some kick ass indie books are due this week, like Terry Moore’s Echo, The Sword, and an all new Vertigo series called Greek Street! Who knows what he will pick, but you can check out the Comic Impact pull list by looking below:

Hey there Comic Impact readers and listeners! If you read the most recent Trade Tuesday article you know I covered The Bomb, published by Asylum Press and written and drawn by creator Steve Mannion. Well, I had promised an interview with both Steve and Frank Forte (the head guy over at Asylum) around the first week of July, but Steve was able to fit us into his schedule and do a solo interview with Simon and I!
Download this podcast as we talk to Steve about The Bomb, his new mini series Fearless Dawn, Canadian television, cigarettes,...

I wanted to check out something a little more on the indie side, so I went with The Bomb published by Asylum Press. Originally released in August 2008, Steve Mannion is the writer and artist of the trade and holy shit does his talent shine!
The Bomb is a series of T & A black and white short stories of the superhero/horror genre that are crude, hilarious, and sexy all at the same time. It’s also jam packed with pin-ups, which is appropriate considering the trade’s main story line takes place in the late 1930’s/early...

Here at Comic Impact we like to show what the staff is reading and discuss the newest shipment of comic books by posting the Comic Impact Pull List! This time Andy has the POW ( Pick of the week) and it looks like it’s going to be a busy week for him.
Will he give the honors to his DC favorite Tim Drake in Red Robin #1? or maybe it’ll be Uncanny X-Men #511 if his Phoenix hypothesis turns out to be true … or maybe something totally different. We don’t know because it’s only Monday and comics haven’t...

In 1970 DC charged comic book writer Denny O’Neil with revamping the super hero, Green Lantern. In 2004 the DC top brass appointed the same task to comics scribe Geoff Johns. The order was easier said than done: make Green Lantern interesting again. Not only was Johns assigned the task of reviving the shattered Green Lantern Corps., but he also was told to (literally) breathe new life into the man who destroyed the Corps: Hal Jordan, the greatest of the Green Lanterns.
Enter Green Lantern: Rebirth.
Rebirth is a six issue story...
