Hey Guys, this was another incredibly busy and fast paced week in the comic industry. On top of Marvel Now! going into full swing with the release of All-New X-Men, Thor: God of Thunder, Avengers Assemble, and Fantastic Four  we also got the latest chapter of Scott Snyder opus to the Joker in Batman and the return of BKV’s sci-fi epic Saga…Oh yeah there was also a lot of comic new that broke this week, lets talk about that in this all new installment of The Impact.

IDW Announces The Rocketeer: Hollywood Horror By Roger Langridge and J. Bone.

Next Wednesday the final issue of The Rocketeer: Cargo of Doom hits stands. The creative team of Mark Waid and Chris Samnee have honored Rocketeer creator Dave Stevens and given us a comic that is a love letter to the character and to pulp fiction in general. In February IDW will launch a second mini-series, The Rocketeer: Hollywood Horror by Roger Langridge and J. Bone. Featuring covers by Walt Simonson here is how IDW solicits the series.

Always caught in the middle, it’s a pulp thrill ride when Cliff finds himself embroiled in a dark mystery in the seemingly picturesque heart of Hollywood’s golden age! He may be neck-deep in mystery and mayhem, but it wouldn’t be a Cliff Secord caper if his sweetheart, the stunning Betty, weren’t steamed at him!

Andy Khouri over at Comics Alliance has a great interview with both Roger Langridge and J. Bone you should check out.

X-Men Ends This February

Dredd will hit Blu-Ray and DVD January 8th 2013. The film, which starred Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby while critically well received, did not do well at the box office, which is a shame because it was one of the most fun films I have seen all year. The disc will include a lot of bonus features including…

  • “Day of Chaos: The Visual Effects of Dredd 3D” featurette
  • “Dredd” featurette
  • “Dredd’s Gear” featurette
  • “The 3rd Dimension” featurette
