Marvel Continues to Tease More Marvel Now!

Marvel continues to release more Marvel Now! Teasers one with “Survive” with the creative team of writer Dennis Hopeless and artist Kev Walker. Not much more is known at this time but stay tuned. This follows the “Lightning” teaser that was released on Tuesday with the creative team of Daniel Way and Steve Dillon, some speculate that might possibly indicate a return of the Thunderbolts but again that is pure speculation. Marvel ended the week with two teasers on Friday one with the word “Wanted” and the creative team of Dennis Hopeless and Salvador Larroca. The other “Killers” with the creative team of Sam Humphries and Ron Garney.

Marvel also released Dustin Weaver’s three interlocking covers for the first three issues of The Avengers and also gave us our first look at Jerome Opena’s interior pencils and good lord do they look amazing. Check them out.

In theory the long awaited mini-series Daredevil End of Days will be coming out September 17th. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and David Mack and featuring artwork by Klaus Janson, David Mack, Alex Maleev and Bill Sienkiewicz. I am really happy to see Bendis return to the proper world of Matt Murdock that said I will not believe it’s coming out until I am physically holding a copy in my hands.

Dark Knight Rises Star Christian Bale Fulfills Wish of Young Very Ill Fan.

This past Wednesday Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale once again showed he’s a class act when he flew five-year-old Jayden Barber and his family out to Los Angeles to meet the Bale. Jayden  has was diagnosed with MSD leukemia and wanted to meet the “real Batman.” after some 30,000 volunteers from Jayden’s hometown of Youngstown, Ohio helped make his wish come true Bale learned of their efforts and flew them out to meet them for lunch at Disney’s Club 33. And that’s not even the best part Jayden’s parents revealed on Friday that Jayden’s illness is currently in remission. Everyone here at Comic Impact sends their best wishes to Jayden and his family.

Michael Clarke Duncan Passes Away at the Age of 54.

I’m very sad to report the passing of actor Michael Clarke Duncan, who died this past Monday. The Green Mile star had the distinction of playing not one but three powerhouses of the comic book world. He played the Kingpin in 2003’s Daredevil, Manute in Sin City, and last but not least Kilowog in 2011’s Green Lantern. Our thoughts and condolences are with Mr. Duncan’s family and friends.

Avengers Box Set Delayed Unitl Spring 2013

Fans waiting to buy the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled Collection are going to have to wait a little longer than its original September 25th release date. In The Avengers Nick Fury carries the cosmic cube around in a Rimowa GmbH suitcase and for the set they were going to package the box set in a replica version of the case. Well because of that Rimowa GmbH, a German luggage manufacturer is suing Marvel’s parent company Disney for “infringing upon and diluting Rimowa’s trademark.”

According to the Chicago Tribune, at this time, Disney and Marvel are not going to fight the lawsuit and will just redesign the packaging. The box set will be available sometime in the spring of 2013. The Avengers DVD/BLU-Ray will still go on sale September 25th.

Michael Emerson to play the Joker in The Dark Knight Returns.

Courtesy of TV Guide. This week it was announced that Lost star Michael Emerson has been cast as the Joker in part two of the animated adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns.

“He’s one of those great villains that an actor like me likes to play because he has layers — he has a face for the world and a face for himself,””He is, in a way, a villain who is a natural actor. All of that is that is delightful and confounding at the same time.”

Emerson is a very interesting choice and I think it’s actually pretty inspired. Part one of The Dark Knight Returns hits stores and on-demand September 25th with part two coming out early 2013.

We also got two new clips from the animated film which features the Bruce Wayne returning to the Batcave and Mutant Leader. You can check them out below along with a few new stills from the film.

CW Reportedly Developing a New Wonder Woman TV Series.

Courtesy of Vulture. Word is that CW is looking to develop a new TV  Series based on our favorite Amazon, Wonder Woman. The series would focus on a younger inexperienced Diana who is not the superhero. Nothing has not been green lit or even been given a pilot…yet. Reportedly Allan Heinberg has been tapped to write the script  which is great news. Heinberg’s run on the Wonder Woman comic was fantastic and all too short.  Stay tuned as I hope this story develops further.

AMC Releases New  The Walking Dead Season 3 Poster.

The Walking Dead’s season three premiere is a little over a month away so the promotional machine is ramping up and this week we got our first look at the new season’s poster. It’s simple effective and boy do I like the new tagline of “Fight the dead. Fear the living.” While the second season had some pacing problems it ended on a very strong note and I’m really excited for the new season which premieres October 14th.

Well there you have it guys. I am on vacation next week but I will return. Have a great weekend.
