Hey Everyone. I hope you all enjoyed your Presidents Day Weekend. With the holiday it was a lighter week of comic announcements. So sit back, relax and enjoy this week’s installment of The Impact.

Chris Samnee Joins Mark Waid and Paolo Rivera on Daredevil.

This week when Marvel revealed their May Solicitations we learned that Chris Samnee will be joining Mark Waid and Paolo Rivera on Daredevil. Samnee is replacing the departing Marcos Martin and will be one of the artists on the revolving art team, alternating with Paolo Rivera starting with issue twelve. Samnee even tweeted a sneak peek at his Matt Murdock. This is great news I’m a huge fan of his work and visual storytelling.  I really think he will work well with the direction and tone of the series.

Get Ready for Occupy Riverdale.

Courtesy of Archie Comics. That’s Right. This March the Occupy movement is coming to Riverdale in the latest Archie adventure from Alex Segura and artist  Gisele Lagace. The storyline will also feature a beautiful painted cover by Jill Thompson.

Phonogram Creative Team Teases Reunion.

Courtesy of Comics Alliance.  Just in time for this weekend’s Image Expo (have fun everyone I wish I was there) Image released this teaser featuring the Phonogram creative team of Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie, and Matthew Wilson. Right now it is unclear if it’s promoting a third Phonogram series or a brand new endeavor for the team.  But stay tuned for more details .

Simon Pegg and Special Guest Wish 2000 AD A Happy Birthday.

This week marked the 35th Birthday of Britain’s premiere comic 2000 AD celebrated it’s 35 birthday, an accomplishment for any comic on either side of the pond. Geek Thespian Extraordinaire Simon Pegg sent the magazine this special Birthday message from the set of the latest Star Trek movie. He was joined by none other than Karl Urban who is playing Judge Dredd in the upcoming movie Dredd. This is our first listen at how the actor will be portraying Dredd’s voice. Dredd should be released in September 2012.

Marvel Releases New Avengers Picture.
