Simon had the pick for the week of January 11th 2012, and he picked Frankenstein Agent of SHADE #5 by Jeff Lemire and Alberto Ponticelli.
But, when the ComicImpact team started talking about the rest of the books this week, the podcast was taken over by Brian Buccellato (you know the man behind Foster #1) last weeks pick of the week by Susan. The crew talks to Buccellato about everything from Susan’s obsession with werewolves and what 1980’s pop start Brian did a sketch of at the Amazing Arizona Comic Con....

As we enter mid-January and 2011 becomes more and more of a memory, I’d like to close out my look at the most notable releases of the past year so that those who may have missed the following can seek them out, or those who have read these be reminded that they are very worthy of a second (or third) read. So, without further ado let’s begin with…

Happy Friday the 13th!!! I’m super excited, because not only is it a Friday AND the 13th, BUT it’s also HORROR on the 13th! Woo hoo! Yay me! Wow, that may have been far too much cheering for the beginning of this article. Let’s start over.
Hello and welcome to a Friday the 13 edition of Horror on the 13th! I, of course, am Susan, your “Horror Girl” (which we all learned is very different from being the “Whore Girl”).
The topic of this month’s article is one that is very near and...

Hello and welcome to the first Pick of the Week Podcast of 2012! Susan had the pick, and the boys weren’t too happy with her selection. They accused her of being charmed by the debonaire stylings of Brian Buccellato. The first pick of 2012 was Foster #1. Let’s face it. It’s independent and horror, so Susan’s kryptonite. Not to mention, Mr. Buccellato’s smile (perhaps she’ll leave Scott Snyder alone for a few weeks). Anyway, beyond that, Sheldon geeked out over the latest from his favorite,...

As 2011 comes to a close, I can say with a bit of relief that the amount of quality content being published within the world of comics continues to increase steadily. The interest in recent years in high-end, lavish, oversized archival editions and spiffy comic related art books signifies that people are not just reading comics for their obvious entertainment value, but also seeing the medium more and more as the valid literary and artistic arena it’s been since day one. As such I’ve assembled a list of 2011’s...

It is that time of the month, when you pay your rent and your phone bill, but it is also the time to look back at some of the best covers from that past month. My favorite was Captain America and Bucky #625 - Cover by Francesco Francavilla
BATMAN AND ROBIN #4 - Cover by Patrick Gleason
Batman and Robin are at the mercy of NoBody as he forces them to embrace a new way to battle crime and injustice. But Batman has other ideas!
Plus: Don’t miss the origin of NoBody!
