I hope everyone enjoyed this week’s Justice League #3.  The book is getting more and more fun with each issue as they continue to tease Darkseid’s arrival Now we get our first peek at Jim Lee’s redesign of the lord of Apokolips.  It maintains a lot of the iconography of the characters’s look… I like it. We will get our official first look in Justice League #4 which hits store December 21st.

Marvel the Merciless!!! Three Series Cancelled. Punisher Max Ending in February 2012.

This week Marvel announced that it is canceling three titles. Ghost RiderBlack Panther: The Most Dangerous Man Alive and X-23. And for me personally the biggest downer Punisher Max is ending in February 2012 with issue 22. Punisher writer Jason Aaron reassures fans that the series is not cancelled, he is merely writing the conclusion he has always envisioned.

“I must say, I’m as proud of this series as anything I’ve ever done at Marvel, in large part because of the amazing art team of Dave Johnson, Matt Hollingsworth and of course Steve Dillon. This was always intended to be one big story, with a very specific beginning, middle and a slam-bang mother of an end. I’m afraid I can’t say any more about the ending than that….other than that it gave me chills, just getting to write it.

With Greg Rucka’s Punisher and a TV series in development it seems like Marvel wants to bring a conclusion to the older  Vietnam vet version of Frank Castle.

These cancellations are the latest cost covering measure Marvel is implementing. X-23 is their only solo female lead book. at least fans of the character can still follow her in Avengers Academy. This is a really disturbing trend Marvel really seems to be getting rid of any book that is not a big seller.

New Banner Poster and Composer for The Avengers.

Courtesy of Moviefone and Yahoo! Movies. Today we got a look at the new character posters for The Avengers. The Hawkeye poster looks really cool and I am glad that we actually get to see Captain America with his mask on. It was also confirmed by Marvel.Com that Captain America: The First Avenger composer Alan Silverstri will be the composer for The Avengers.  The Avengers directed by Joss Whedon hits theaters May 4th 2012.

First Look at DC Nation.

During the premiere of Green Lantern: The Animated Series DC gave us a first sneak peek at DC Nation.Which is will be a behind the scenes look at DC Comics and their fans, it will also feature  some animated shorts  done in a  new varied styles we have not seen before. I hope we get to see some characters that  usually could not support a full animated feature like Batgirl or Aquaman finally get the animated spotlight.

Well, there you go folks, that is all the news that’s fit to print. Hope everyone has a great weekend and stay tuned to Comic Impact as we bring you all the latest and greatest comic news.
