WonderCon Moves to Anaheim.
Today it was confirmed by Comic Con International that WonderCon 2012 will be moving from San Francisco’s Moscone Center to the Anaheim, CA. The reason being the major construction project that will be going on at the Moscone Center. Not only has the venue changed but so have the dates. WonderCon, which for the past few years had been held Easter weekend will now take place March 16th-March 18th 2012.
This has caused a bit of a Con shuffle as C2E2 just announced they are moving the dates of their show from March to April.
WonderCon’s move had been rumored for months, it’s nice to finally have confirmation. It’s going to be an interesting change of pace, one of my favorite parts of WonderCon has been going to San Francisco, a city I love, but it’s only for a year. I look forward to it’s return to SF.

While it’s cool that it will be more accessible to those of us in southern California, the Anaheim Convention Center really is all there is to see in Anaheim unless you’re going to also visit Disneyland. I’ve never been up to the Bay Area for Wondercon though I love the city of San Francisco. I agree that it’s probably good that this is only a temporary relocation.
