This year’s Eisner award winner for “Best New Book” was Vertigo’s amazing American Vampire. I was lucky enough to talk to the creative team behind the book, Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque. This was the second annual talk with Scott Snyder, and he sure had a a lot to say about the future of the book. We even got a never before heard fact about what to expect in the upcoming storyline that takes us into the 1950’s. Also, what connection does Snyder have with Elvis? Which comic creator does he think looks like a real life super hero? Will we see Skinner Sweet and Sweet Tooth go on an adventure together? Would Albuquerque be on board with Jeff Lemire taking over for a few issues? Was he surprised to win The Eisner? All this and more will be revealed in our big American Vampire interview.

Make sure you check back for more coverage of San Diego Comic Con 2011, including a second interview with Scott Snyder.
