Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have announced actor Michael Shannon has been cast in the role of General Zod for their upcoming Superman movie titled Superman: Man of Steel. General Zod first appeared in Adventure Comics #283.  When Superman II came out back in 1980 starring Gene Hackman, Christopher Reeve and Terence Stampwho played Zod in that filmI was in love withGeneral Zod.I am so happy that he will be one of the villains in the upcoming Zack Snyder Superman film starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

Shannon was in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire series as Agent Nelson Van Alden. He was also Doc Cross Willaims in Jonah Hex. Let’s just all hope that  Superman: Man of Steel is better then Jonah Hex. I know I would love to see Faora, Ursa in this film. Time will only tellas plot details are still under lock and key over at the studio.
