How’s that for a screen shot? I sure hope it was worth ten years of fanboy wait time on your part. So obviously the good news is Marvel vs Capcom is really happening, the bad? Well your gonna have to wait a little bit longer to get your grubby mitts on this piece of delicious comic/video game goodness. As of posting this it looks like the game hits the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2011.What can you expect from 10 years of wait? Well I am glad you asked! The title will likely feature more than 30 characters to choose from and feature 3-on-3 tag team fighting.
This is just a guess but I am sure there will be online play as well as DLC for more characters. If you are familiar with the Street Fighter franchise then you are aware that last year Capcom released Street Fighter IV, which was a update to the 2D side scrolling fighter and brought it a little more up to date by adding the 3D character design in a 2D game world. The same will be done with Marvel vs Capcom. Capcom has also stated that they are using a new shader ,making it stand out a bit from the current Street Fighter IV.
The story has always taken a back seat in fighters like these but Capcom is promising a really good story as well! I gotta say I am not over excited about this game. I was never really to big a fan of the original as the music annoys the living piss out of me! I am however happy to see that rumors of new characters like Deadpool are being used along more longtime Marvel main stays as well as the inclusion of updated costumes. It is a changing of the guard a bit from old to new and I have to say is it just me or do these character models have a Mike Deodato look to them?
