Digital Comic: Marvel hits iTunes

Published on October 30th, 2009

Ok I am in a bit in aw here, our digital comic fan boy (more like a fetish really) and all around fan of Ed Brubaker, Sheldon did not  post this. Marvel will be providing their comics for sale through four applications; ComiXology, iVerse, ScrollMotion and Panelfly.

You can download any one of these applications on either your iPhone or your iTouch and access a rather vast collection of Marvel comics NOT current issues.  Even though there is a lot you can download,  here are some of the stuff I would have liked to see. The full run of Astonishing X-Men by Whedon and Captain America #1–30 by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting. They do have, for us die hard comic book fans, Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #1-25 (Lee, Ditko) over at Panelfly.

Here is the breakdown of what each site has and how much you will be paying.

Comixology: (71 issues, $1.99 each)

iphoneAge of Apocalypse #1–6
Astonishing X-Men #1–24 (Full Whedon Cassaday run)
Captain America #1–30 (Brubaker, Epting)
Marvel Zombies #1–5
X-23 #1–6

iVerse: (37 issues, $1.99 each)

Age of Apocalypse #1–6
Amazing Spider-Man #519–524
Astonishing X-Men #1–12
Captain America #1–6 (Brubaker, Epting)
Invincible Iron Man #1–6
X-23 #1–6

Panelfly (84 issues, $0.99 each)

Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #1-25 (Lee, Ditko)
Amazing Spider-Man #519-524
Astonishing X-Men #1-24
Invincible Iron Man #1-16
X-23 #1-6
Age Of Apocalypse #1-6

Now what if you don’t have a iPhone or iTouch…… Well I guess you just have to wait, don’t worry, I am in the same boat as you since I am trying to upgrade my phone right now.
