Figure Friday: Marvel Universe Moon Knight

Published on September 18th, 2009

Did you get Vengeance of The Moon Knight #1 this week by Gregg Hurwitz with art by Jerome Opeña? Well if you did not go read it right now! If you did then check out this review of Moon Knight Marvel Universe figure from series 4.

Let me first just say one thing before I go on with this review. Taking photos of all white figures with an white background is a pain in the ass!

Package Description
No one, not even Moon Knight himself, is really sure whether he’s actually the avatar of the ancient god Khonshu, or if he’s just crazy. It is without a doubt that he is stronger than the average man, and a far superior fighter to all but the best. He has devoted himself to Khonshu, acting out the Egyptian god’s agenda of revenge against criminals from one end of the world to the other.

Appearance
Like I told you the figure is all white with some light grey lines so you can see his muscles. His face is all black and those damn white eyes are looking right at you. The face sculpt does look a bit like an Owl. He comes with a bow staff and a half moon throwing weapon as well as with a cape that you CAN’T TAKE OFF. Hasbro did a great job with his cape. The white with grey color really helps define the muscles and tiny details from a sculpt standpoint.

Poseability
Moon Knight features the reigning Marvel Universe standard for articulation (ball style shoulders, swivel biceps, hinge elbows, swivel wrists, a ball style chest, swivel waist, ball hips, double hinged knees, and hinge/swivel ankles.), which is a pretty solid amount of points that allow him to achieve a good number of poses and display options. Yet his neck is very limited by his sculpt so don’t expect a lot of range there.

Just like last weeks (The Punisher) Hasbro has done a great job on the sculpt of this figure. It feels like Hasbro is working hard to make these figures for both kids and the die-hard toys fans out there. They deffinalty seem to be learing as they go and improving with each wave which is a good thing!

Final Judgment 9/10
This is a great figure. I am loving the later waves in the Marvel Universe. I am happy that Moon Knight is part of this line of figures since he is back in the Marvel U. This time he is going to kick some ass. For more on Moon Knight make sure to check out our interview with Gregg Hurwitz as he talks about Vengeance of The Moon Knight and stay tuned as will have the artist (Jerome Opeña) of the Vengeance of The Moon Knight for you comic impact readers very soon!
