Pro Stars

So did you read Andy’s Wacky Comic Wednesday article about Marvel’s and the NFL’s comic book adventure, SuperPro? Well today over lunch we were talking about some other bad ideas in the 1990’s, and I thought of this one: a T.V. show where Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, and Wayne Gretzky work as a team to fight crime. The show was called Pro Stars.

That’s right it was like Scooby-Doo but with professional sports stars. I know it was nuts, but the truly sad part is I used to watch it back in the day.

I love how in the theme song it says “Wayne’s hot slap shot!” yet in the video he actually scores on a back hand… and why shoot a puck that turns into a boomerang? Why not just throw an actual boomerang??

I liked it. Wish there was an origin story for it, but back then, during the 90’s, they shyed away from such things. If you were lucky, you got a quick somehting in the theme song.

Now, a show around the Rubic’s Cube, that’s scary. Sure I watched it, but still. A living Rubic’s Cube?
