I am not a big fan of the X-Men but this film was bad. I hope they never make more X films. I walked out of the film with 5 minutes left also Hollie Happy Birthday.

Wolverine is the best at what he does. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for this movie. I think this one misses the boat.
Sorry Sheldon and Hollie but Simon is right on this one.

The film is a cursed mess of characters and half-thought-out plots. This Wolverine film is another X3.

I really wish I could have joined in the podcast guys. I was surprised to find myself siding more with Simon, but not as strongly.
I’d have to say it was a bad movie. No plot, no characterization, very little drama. That said, I rather enjoyed it. It was pretty and things blew up, which is enough to entertain me.
I disagree that a movie has to change the story so much to make it watchable. It’s a fine line. The first and second X-Men movies got it right. They changed all the ages of the characters and it didn’t matter, they got the mood and feel of it all bang on. Perfect. In this case it was just sloppy.
As for Deadpool, Hollie said she’d never heard of him which I suspect would be the same for the greater part of the viewers. Deadpool isn’t a Frankestein Monster of mutant abilities, so why say he’s Deadpool? If most of the audience don’t know who he is anyway why not just use a new name? Instead of Deadpool why not Weapon XI, or play with ‘XI’ eg. Xilene, Xixo whatever. If most people don’t care and Deadpool fans would be pissed off was this character just aimed at people who hate the character and wanted him to die?
Did you guys stay after the credits? We did and got a rubbish extra scene with Wolverine sitting at a bar. However Wikipedia says there’s an alternative scene with Deadpool’s hand reaching for the severed head?
