Heath Ledger Wins Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

Published on February 23rd, 2009

The late Heath Ledger won the Oscar for his portrayal of The Joker in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. The intense role was at first implied by the press to possibly have been a contribution towards the actor’s death, which has since been attributed to a drug overdose from a combination of prescription drugs taken whilst suffering from pneumonia.

Heath’s final performance in Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is set for a  September release (June in the UK).
