Who is watching The Watchmen (I am so sick of typing that)? It looks like in six weeks WE will be. The war between Fox and Warner Bros is over.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the deal is said to involve a sizable cash payment to Fox and a percentage of the film’s boxoffice grosses.
Fox will not be a co-distributor on the film, nor will it co-own the “Watchmen” property.
“Warner Bros. acknowledges that Fox acted in good faith in bringing its claims, which were asserted prior to the start of principal photography,” the statement read. “Fox acknowledges that Warner Bros. acted in good faith defending against those claims.”
I’m sure with only 6 weeks before the film we will start seeing billboards and TV ads and more extensive leaked trailers. How much media did the film get just from this war between Fox and Warner Bros?
Will Alan Moore watch this film? I know I will be there if Adri will be there in her Silk Spectre outfit. I will be there in my Rorschach mask – anyone care to send me one? And while you’re at it, how about sending me “Tales of the Black Freighter” which includes Gerard Butler as the lead voicing role, and “Under the Hood?” Both are reported to be coming out on DVD some time in March.
