Published on January 31st, 2009

ozymandiasfigureI have been talking for sometime now how I wanted my Watchmen action figures and guess what? That’s right where going to review a few this week.  Today I am going to take a look at the smartest men in the world. Ozymandias (Adrian Veidt) series 1 toy from DC Direct.

Package Description

A complex, multi-layerd mystery adventure, WATCHMEN in set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society and the ” Doomsday Clock ” – which charts the USA’s tension with the Soviet Union – is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorshach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion – a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers – Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity but who is watching – the WATCHMEN?

Articulation

The articulation points are GREAT for this line. The head does look up and look down goes from left to right. The range of motion in the arms is slightly limited in the arms by the shoulder pads, but the elbows and knees bend a full 90 degrees. The torso can bend forward very far, but not  to back much. For one’s I had no problem with balance with a figure witch is great he also comes with a stand that  look like the top of a rooftop.

Poseability

This figure looks really good in dynamic poses because the black and gold hides all the joints and body looks very fluid and natural. He can pull off the standard action poses for this line and its articulation, and looks great doing it.

He does look nice on the shelf, but needs some characters to stand next to. But if you love Ozymandias then this is the action figure you been waiting for if you’re not a big fan of this character I would wait.

Final Judgment: 8/10

Ozymandias will look great in a collection especially since I know Watchmen fans like my self will by the set of these figures. He is an excellent figure and will look good on a display shelf. The face sculpt is GREAT it does look a lot like Matthew Goode who will be playing Ozymandias in the film and the paint job on this figure is great.

I just wish he would come with a Bubastis toy. But I guess that is just me being  a dorky famboy.

Will you be buying Watchmen action figures ? If so who ?
