No Wizard World LA and Texas !!!!
I’m posting this blog in a bit of a shock, since on Thursday I had just talked to someone over at Wizard about getting press passes for the upcoming show here in Los Angeles.
Now, Wizard World LA was scheduled for March 13-15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Dallas for November 6-8. I just got off the phone with the L.A. Convention Center and they told me that it had been canceled and does not show any new dates. Other sources have confirmed the Texas show has been cancelled as well.
Wizard World LA already had a line-up of guests scheduled (Stan Lee, Grant Morrison,Brian Michael Bendis, James Robinson, and more) to appear, and both shows were already preselling tickets.
Is this because no one was going to this show(I know last year I was at the Los Angeles Wizard World and it was not a big show)? Or is this because of the economic crisis? I have also left a voicemail over at Wizard and am waiting for a phone call or email response to let me know what’s going on…

I am also hearing that they basically stopped paying writers and get people from their message board to write - for free.
Regardless, doesn’t look good for them.
