Mighty Muggs Mark 1 Iron Man Review

Both Iron Man and Hasbro’s Mighty Muggs have been out for awhile now, but I just can’t stop singing their praises. And thanks to Comic Girl, I now have some of my very own Iron Man Mark 1 Mighty Muggs to review - an amalgam of super-toy delight!

Packaging

One of the best aspects of this toy is the packaging, and this Muggs has the best design I’ve seen yet - it feels like it jumps right out of the box.

Appearance

With standard Muggs articulation, the design of this toy is based on Iron Man AKA Tony Stark. It’s a specific design, however, based on his first appearance in Tales of Suspense #39 (I still want that as a tattoo) and not the Mark 1 in the film. I like that they keep the design true to the comic over the film, where the characters can become commercialized and over-flashified.

This actually wasn’t the first Iron Man Muggs version to be released - let’s face it, a newcomer comic fan or younger kid is most likely to pick the Mugg that resembles the film’s character, like last year’s very sexy San Diego Comic-Con Iron Man Muggs exclusive (different suit - the red and yellow design that most people are familiar with).

Painting

Now here’s a negative: the painting’s a bit off, with a strange gradient on his back from silver to black. It’s still, overall, a GREAT looking Mighty Muggs - just don’t look at the back.

Final Judgment: 8/10

If you’re a die-hard fan of Iron Man or Mighty Muggs, I suggest picking up this bad boy, but if you’re more of a commercialized fan looking for a cool toy, go ahead and pick up the red and yellow design based on the movie.
