A few days late posting on this, but news that’s still fit to print. Neil Gaiman announced on The Today Show that there will be a film adaptation of his children’s book, The Graveyard Book, and will be written and directed by Neil Jordan, the mastermind behind The Crying Game and Interview with a Vampire. I’ve never read the Newbury Medal-winning story, but I’m betting that all book stores and comic shops will need to add a few hundred extra of these to their weekly distro list. Keep your eyes peeled for...

I’m not gonna beat around the bush with this one. I’m basically known as the comic book based video games expert. So, when I get excited about one of these such games, you should probably pay attention. PAY ATTENTION.
Alright, so I wasn’t super-crazy-pumped about Batman: Arkham Asylum, until I saw the above trailer on Destructoid this morning. Let it be known that if you are going to make a trailer about a game, do it like you would a movie trailer and set up the STORY. Don’t just show clips of explosions...

Yet I can’t think anything else when I see this as someone who has read watchmen around 10 times in my life and reading it one more time. This not how I picture this suit in my head.

For some time there have been a lot of rumors that Eva Longoria (GOD DAM she is hot) was going to be Wasp in the upcoming Avengers film after photos of her leaving the Marvel Studios holding a stack of Avengers comics.
Well, tonight at the Golden Globes Ryan Seacrest asked the sexy actress on the red carpet about the rumor. She had this to say: “not true.” Yet Longoria said she’d love to play a role in “The Avengers” if the opportunity presented itself.
Here is my pick for Eva to play a role in The Avengers...

So, looks like Heath Ledger won a Golden Globe award for his performance as The Joker in Batman “The Dark Knight.” Now is he a shoe-in for an Oscar?
I don’t know - I didn’t think he was that great in The Dark Knight. Go ‘head, send me your hate mail - that’s Simon@comicimpact.com. *
But I think people were making a big deal about him because he was a good-looking guy who died before his time, much like they did with James Dean. I love the people that where saying they were fans of his work...

The L.A. Times is reporting today that lawyers for 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. have come to an agreement to allow U.S. District Judge Gary A. Feess to decide if Warner Bros. should be allowed to release “Watchmen” this spring as planned, therefore eschewing a potentially lengthy jury trial that would most likely cause the film to be delayed even further.I hope we can get a release date...

Ever wondered how to take a 2D comic and turn it into a 2D movie full of 2D characters? Watch the Spirit and weep. A more mixed up movie you’re unlikely to see in 2009, which is saying that they’ve set the WTF bar pretty high.
Take the look of Sin City, the 1930’s shtick of Dick Tracy, and mix it up with an uneasy feel of Sky Captain the the World of Tomorrow, plus a little Spy Kids, and you have a film that really doesn’t know who it’s aiming at. It misses pretty much every mark. Include a hero...
